We are so excited to finally share Michelle & Bo’s Fairmont San Francisco wedding. Thank you Junebug Weddings for featuring it last week on your lovely wedding blog.
Michelle and Bo met accidentally at a friend’s birthday party back in April 2008 in Manhattan where they used to live. Her matron of honor, Cat, who is married to Bo’s groomsman, Ray, introduced them to each other and the rest is history.
On March 21, 2014, Bo proposed on a helicopter ride over Manhattan right before they moved to the Bay Area in April. They both love adventures, and it was their farewell adventure to New York and starting a new chapter adventure as an engaged couple in San Francisco.
Michelle wore a gorgeous Vera Wang wedding dress. The dress had everything she was looking for – romantic and soft with an avant garde twist from the rosettes in the back of the dress
And these pretty Jimmy Choo shoes!
To honor their Korean heritage, Michelle and Bo briefly wore their Han Bok by Kum Dan Je for the family portrait session right before their ceremony. We love the pastel colors, so pretty!
Ahhh… and these beoseon and shoes, they looked so pretty!
Both Michelle and Bo’s engagement and wedding bands are custom designed…
The lovely florals were designed by Jeery Dang of Tanjeery Designs:
Michelle wanted a look that could go from an up do during the ceremony and down during the reception.
When Michelle and Bo were getting ready in the morning for the wedding, there was a heavy fog over San Francisco. The fog blanketed the city up until 2:00 pm when it started to lift just in time for photos and the ceremony at 4:00 pm.
Michelle’s hair piece was custom made by a lady in New York City. A jeweled sash was sewn into the waist of her wedding dress, and she wore the extra material from the sash around her wrist. Earrings and necklace were her “something borrowed!”
The first look is always so special!
The Pavilion Room with that amazing ceiling chandelier is one of the most beautiful function space at the Fairmont San Francisco:
The wedding ceremony was really unique with their entire bridal party marry Michelle and Bo. They prepared a script for all 14 of them to read. It was a very special way to have their family and friends to be a part of the ceremony.
The bridesmaids wore black Amsale dresses to tie in with the classic, elegant look. All the boys including the groom wore tuxes from The Black Tux.
When Michelle and Bo saw the Crown room, they knew it was where they’d want to have their reception. 90% of their guests were flying in from out of town, and they wanted to give them an unforgettable weekend and the views from the Crown room did just that. The tall, wrap-around windows reveal a sweeping 270-degree panorama of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Coit Tower, Alcatraz, Downtown and Twin Peaks.
Michelle wanted their wedding to have a classic, elegant feel, so the colors she chose were ivory, gold and blush.
Bo’s father, a wine connoisseur, purchased and stored two bottles of French Grand Cru wines, vintage dated the year that Bo was born, and was saving the fine wines to open on his wedding day. Among the spectacular wines uncorked that evening was a prized bottle of 1982 Chateau Lafite-Rothchild, Pauillac, considered one of the greatest wines in the world, and a 1982 Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac. Of course, the wedding day is to honor the beautiful bride, Michelle, so additional vintage Bordeaux, Médoc region wines from her birth year were also uncorked, including a 1983 Chateau Lynch-Bages, Pauillac and a 1983 Chateau Beychevelle, Saint-Julien.
The amazing cake was by Kelly Zubal of Inticing Creations. It was a strawberry and raspberry sponge cake, inspired by Michelle’s dress and the blush color.
